About Dr Alice Boyes and Dr Alice Boyes Limited

My PhD research about relationships was published in world’s premier social psychology journal, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology in 2007.

I have a therapy practice in Christchurch, New Zealand. I write a practical tips psychology blog and regularly get consulted by media (e.g., I’ve been quoted in Marie Claire, Women’s Health, Next, Fashion Quarterly and I’ve written about Positive Psychology for Mindfood).

My psychology blog includes lots of practical tips about how to increase your personal and/or relationship happiness Read my Blog.

I see clients in person in Christchurch (Christchurch psychology PhD) and people who live in other areas of New Zealand via Skype (live video) and phone.

I blend multiple different types of therapies according to your preferences, including techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Christchurch CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, and Self-Compassion.

I’m a science geek, I know lots about the research literature (which you’ll see from my blog).

When people come to see me for therapy, I help them understand themselves better, reduce their problems, and help them find the tools and information to have more self-acceptance and live a rich, meaningful and happy life. I tend to work with people who are self-motivated.

If you’re a journalist and want comments for an article you’re writing, feel free to contact me.
