Best Psychology Audio Books
If you use the link below you can get any audiobook of your own choice from a selection of 60,000, COMPLETELY FREE as part of a free trial from Audible.
You have to enter your credit card details to access the free trial but it’s easy to opt out before the trial period expires. If you do this, you don’t have to pay anything, and can keep your books after you opt out. These are legal downloads (and the company, Audible, is owned by Amazon.com). You can download the books immediately and play them on your computer or ipod.
Please note that to access some of the audio books below you’ll need to list a US address. If you sign up with a non-US address you can still access the trial but the selection of books available changes depending on which country you list your address as.
My advice for using Audible is to always look for “unabridged” audiobooks, which will be just as good as the paper version of the book.
Audio Books recommend by Clinical Psychologist Dr Alice Boyes
Happiness
- The How Of Happiness, by Psychologist Dr Sonja Lyubomirsky.
- Stumbling on Happiness, by Social Psychologist Dr Daniel Gilbert
- Positivity, by Psychologist Dr Barbara Fredrickson
Improving Your Relationship and Understanding Your Relationship Patterns
- Hold Me Tight, by Psychologist Dr Sue Johnson (founder of Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy).
- 10 Lessons to Transform Your Marriage, by Psychologist John Gottman (this book is good but IMO not as good as Dr Gottman’s earlier book The Seven Principles of Making Marriage Work, which unfortunately isn’t available as an audiobook).

- The Beck Diet Solution, by Cognitive Psychologist Dr Judith Beck.
