Mindfulness for Anxiety Audio Guide

Below you can purchase a 50 minute mp3 to help you understand how mindfulness techniques could help you if struggle with anxiety, or have an overly busy mind.

I made this mp3 based on feedback from therapy clients that they have a hard time understanding what to expect from mindfulness practice. Many people are initially under the mistaken impression that the main benefit of mindfulness is feeling more relaxed at the time you do it – The potential benefits of mindfulness practice are much more wide ranging and lasting than that.

The audio guide focuses on explaining the rationale for how/why mindfulness might help. The last part of the audio guide includes some mindfulness exercises that you can try straight away, but the main point of the guide is to explain why and how mindfulness might be useful to you as part of overcoming your struggles with anxiety.

The price is $5 USD (plus 15% GST if you are ordering from within New Zealand). You will be able to download the file and play it on your computer or any mp3 player, immediately after completing your purchase.

Please don’t expect anything professionally produced or edited. I’ve just recorded myself talking, so ums etc are included. Its cheap and cheerful – blog-style.

Recommendation for the best listening experience: Listen using headphones rather than through your laptop/computer speakers. Computer speakers tend not to provide very good sound quality or volume.

30 Days of Rumination Tips, Day 15. Scan your body until you notice any area of your body where you're holding physical tension. Allow that area to be soft. Usually a few slow breaths will be enough to help you soften. Focus on one area of your body at a time. It might only be for a few seconds. Scan again, and repeat with any other areas of tension. […]
