Rural Appointments

I offer appointments to people living in rural New Zealand via phone or Skype live video linkup.

- Coping with stress
- Perfectionism
- Goal setting
- Support if you have a family member going through treatment (e.g., if you have a child with an eating disorder).

You should be aware that seeing a psychologist via distance may not be as effective as in person. (Research on using new technologies to provide psychology services is still in its infancy). However, Skype or phone could be a good option for you if seeing a psychologist in person isn’t an option.

I only offer services by distance when the client is in a reasonably stable situation and is reasonably comfortable with technology (sending and receiving attachments via email for example).

Consults are $279 for the first appointment (90 mins) and then $155/50 mins for subsequent appointments.

Another potential option is if you would like some independent advice to help you find the right treatment for your problem. If you have are having problems in your relationship or you have depression or anxiety, I can give you some information about what types of treatments psychologists generally recommend (based on the research literature). I can give you options for what to look for in seeing a local therapist or self help. For this we could just book a $155/50 first appointment.
